Night Mint

New TIMEPieces Mint

TIME Magazine is easily the most aggressive legacy publication to properly handle NFT. TIME dropped their latest "TIMEPieces" release today to raise funds for humanitarian relief efforts in Ukraine.

Pixelmon Fever

The buzz around the NFT community today is filled with the massive failure of Pixelmon, an NFT project that raised a staggering $70 million and promised a high-flying roadmap. It was an epic failure that quickly became the laughing stock of the "flavor of the week" in the NFT space.

KPMG Canada buys "Women's World" NFT

KPMG is one of the "Big Four" accounting firms with a global presence. In an announcement today, KPMG Canada purchased Women's World NFT as "part of its corporate strategy. The reserve price for WoW is currently approximately $25,000. Benjie Thomas, Managing Partner, Advisory Services, KPMG Canada, said.

“This acquisition reflects not only our belief in the continued growth of NFT, but also our belief in the value of WoW and its mission. Now that the process has been completed, we are well positioned to guide our clients through the development of their corporate NFT strategies, including the acquisition and protection of NFT.”

Projects like WoW that represent gender equality in a predominantly male environment are poised to become major players in organizations that desire purpose-driven NFT investments.

NFTs are not intrinsically linked to art in any way. NFTs are something much broader and irreplaceable, and the types of things they represent can grow exponentially

Expecting people to be more interested in art tokens would be letting themselves down

At NewsBTC and our sister network Bitcoinist, we've been looking at various potential use cases for NFT; don't be surprised to see more and more projects that focus less on strict art and more on practicality.
