The conflict between Russia and Ukraine is escalating. A few days ago, Ukraine's official Twitter account shared a Bitcoin and an Ether address to receive cryptocurrency donations. Donors can use this information to help Ukrainians via BTC, ETH or USDT. Murat Pak answered the call and donated 670 ETH to the wallet. At the time of writing, the total amount of donations was around $1.7 million.

The donation came from Murat Pak's Censored NFT collection. The digital artist collaborated with WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange on this project. The collection meets WikiLeaks' goal of publishing news leaks and classified media, often involving large datasets of censored and restricted material. The platform focuses primarily on areas surrounding war, espionage and corruption.
This NFT project seems to be a good fit to contribute to the current situation. Although some of the community questioned his intentions, many applauded and thanked him for his contribution. Nonetheless, Pak is to be thanked for this generous initiative.
To date, many in the cryptocurrency and NFT space have been generous. For example, Pussy Riot's Nadya launched the Ukrainian DAO to raise funds for Ukrainians. Among others, CZ of Coin and Sun Yuchen of Tron have expressed interest in donating. In addition, Polkadot's Gavin Wood has requested a DOT link so he can donate $5 million to the cause.
Given that the cryptocurrency and NFT space regularly touts their community-first mantra, it's absolutely heartening to see everyone from the average Joe to the cryptocurrency billionaire get on board.
