Ferrari CEO Vigna made some statements about the blockchain space in the company's last quarterly report. The CEO said that while blockchain and NFT are notable areas, the company may focus on web 3.0 in the future.
“We are strengthening our relationships with leading technology partners such as Amazon Web Services Wales to stay at the forefront of digital technology and Web 3.0.”
The CEO also said that these areas could help the brand grow and consolidate its leadership in the sector. He also highlighted that some competitors have already entered the field.
“Like we said, I think it’s important for us to review and understand how new technologies can help our brand. Certainly digital technologies using blockchain and NFT, Web 3.0 technologies may be areas of interest for us to look at.”
Ferrari has entered the world of cryptocurrency by creating an NFT collection for its fans. The company has agreed with Swiss technology company Velas Network AG for the collection. The collection will go on sale in March 2022.
As part of the deal, Villars also became the title sponsor of the Ferrari esports series and the esports team that will compete in the F1 championship.
